NEW DELHI, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Indian and Indonesian senior officials have announced their decision to increase bilateral economic cooperation between their two nations.

Kamal Nath, Indian minister of Commerce, and Mari Elka Pangestu, Indonesian minister of Commerce, made the announcement at the eighth India-Indonesia Joint Business Council meeting.

The nations have agreed to increase their bilateral trade volume from $4 billion to $10 billion by 2010.

Nath called on Indonesia to relax its visa policy for visiting Indian businessmen and tourists to help increase trade.

"If trade is to be sustained and expanded then it cannot rely on just handful of commodities. The pharmaceutical sector, IT, two- and three-wheeler and technology transfer in rail transportation offer excellent scope for both trade and investment," said Nath.
