HOUSTON, July 28 (UPI) -- Field service workers for Houston's Continental Airlines rejected representation sought by the Transport Workers Union of America.
The TWU filed an application with the National Mediation Board in April for an election. Service employees participating in this week's election include ramp, operations and cargo agents.
"We will continue to earn our employees' trust and maintain our culture of treating each other with dignity and respect," Larry Kellner, chairman and chief executive officer of Continental Airlines, said Thursday.
"These are unprecedented times in the airline industry, and our employees have shown again that by working together we can succeed."
