Ford descendant moving up in the ranks

DETROIT, June 3 (UPI) -- A 38-year-old descendant of Ford Motor Co.'s founder is taking another quick step up the career ladder at the second largest carmaker in the United States.

Elena Ford, the great-great-granddaughter of Henry Ford, has been appointed director of North America product marketing, planning and strategy, the Detroit News reported Friday. Her mother is Charlotte Ford, daughter of Henry Ford II and cousin to Bill Ford Jr., the company's chairman and chief executive.
