NEW YORK, March 15 (UPI) -- The New York Federal Reserve Bank reported Tuesday manufacturing in the New York area rose slightly in March.

The New York Fed's Empire State manufacturing index rose to 19.6 points in March from 19.2 points in February. It marked the 23rd consecutive month that the index has been above zero, with all numbers above zero indicating an expansion.

But Joel Naroff, chief economist at Naroff Economic Advisers, warned the length of the expansion indicates growth likely will slow in the future.
