Companies team for technologies

PHILADELPHIA, March 15 (UPI) -- Philadelphia's cable TV Comcast Corp. and TiVo Inc., which invented the technology for recording, pausing and rewinding live TV, have formed a partnership.
Under the seven-year deal, Comcast subscribers will get the TiVo service on Comcast's DVR products in a majority of the cable companies' markets in mid-to-late-2006, the Philadelphia Inquirer said Tuesday.
Comcast will pay undisclosed fees to TiVo for use of its service.
"It is very important that TiVo has found a way to work with the nation's largest cable operator on a cooperative basis," said Tom Rogers, vice chairman of TiVo.
