Verizon Wireless wins contract

BEDMINSTER, N.J., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Verizon Wireless of Bedminster, N.J., Wednesday was awarded a contract to provide wireless voice and data services throughout the State of Georgia.

Verizon Wireless said it was awarded the contract to provide wireless voice and data services to all state, local and county government agencies and municipalities throughout the State of Georgia.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Verizon Wireless said it will offer discount wireless packages to more than 500,000 government employees, including state, county and city employees as well as 61 public universities and colleges.
