SINGAPORE, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Singapore Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has arrived in Saudi Arabia for a six-day official visit seeking closer economic ties with the Kingdom.
Ambassador Mohamad Amin Kurdi said the visit, which includes meetings with Crown Prince Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and other members of the royal family in Riyadh, would open doors to closer ties and further cooperation in many fields, The Straits Times reported Monday. These include economic cooperation, two-way investment flows, research, education and training as well as cultural and sports exchanges.

Saudi Arabia remains Singapore's largest trading partner in the Middle East, with total trade last year standing at $6 billion.
