LaCrosse Footwear recalls work boots

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- LaCrosse Footwear of Portland, Ore., Wednesday recalled 8,400 Polar and Trailblazer work boots because they may not provide sufficient protection.

LaCrosse said the protective toe cap on the boots may not provide sufficient impact and compression protection. This could result in crushing, bruising or other injury to the wearer's foot.

Only these style numbers are included in the recall.

The boots were sold at independent sporting goods, farm, work and shoe stores nationwide, as well as through safety distributors. Boots were sold from June 2002 to last July for between $67 and $110.

Consumers are advised to stop using the boots immediately and contact LaCrosse at (800) 890-3505 to receive a store credit toward the purchase of a new pair of boots.
