LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- The Carnival Corp. is considering providing China and India with cruises to take advantage of a growing Asian market.
"We should have an indication of what we can do there by 2005," said Howard Frank, chief operating officer. "We have a growing business in Australia and a limited presence in Asia at the moment -- it's principally for Asian customers taking cruises in North America. The question is whether we can bring it closer to home for them."
Carnival has been restructuring following its P&O Princess acquisition and has begun relocating its Cunard business to the California headquarters, reported the Financial Times Saturday.
The largest cruise operator in the world, Carnival has brands including: Holland America Line, Cunard Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Costa Cruises and Windstar Cruises.
