Northrop gets stealth bomber radar pact

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Northrop Grumman has received an initial $388 million contract to develop an upgraded radar system for the U.S. Air Force's B-2 stealth bomber fleet.

The deal calls for development and testing of an initial run of six "active electronically scanned array" antennas over the next several years and could be worth nearly $1 billion to the company through 2011.
