Ford stops production from lack of parts

DETROIT, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Ford Motor Co. Monday stopped production at one of its auto assembly plants in Georgia due to a lack of parts.

The company said its Hapeville plant, which produces Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models, had to be suspended, but it did not give details about what parts were missing or when production would resume.

The plant has about 2,200 workers.
