Salem Communications buys WRMR-AM

CAMARILLO, Calif., July 7 (UPI) -- Salem Communications of Camarillo, Calif., said Wednesday it plans to acquire WRMR-AM 1420 AM in Cleveland, Ohio, from Cleveland Classical Radio.

Under terms of the deal Salem will acquire the radio station for $10 million.

Salem, which is a leading radio broadcaster focused on religious- and family-themed programming, said beginning July 12 the station will broadcast as WHK-AM at 1420 kilohertz.

Upon completion of the deal, Salem will own and/or operate 98 radio stations. In addition to its radio properties, Salem owns the Salem Radio Network, which syndicates talk, news and music programming to more than 1,600 affiliated radio stations.
