Boeing delivers C-17 to RAF

WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The Federal Communications Commission Thursday announced the first action against a company for violating the national do-not-call registry.
In a move FCC enforcement chief David Solomon called "landmark," the Irvine, Calif., mortgage lending firm CPM Funding Inc. was cited for allegedly making a telemarketing call to a consumer listed on the registry.
The notice provided to the company, which does business as California Pacific Mortgage, was just a warning as required under federal law.
But if the firm continues to violate the rules of registry program, which is administered by the Federal Trade Commission, it faces fines up to $11,000 per individual violation or per day.
