Greenspan warns vagueness inevitable

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said Friday the central bank must make decisions even at times of uncertainty, and future prospects remain vague.

Greenspan spoke to kick off a two-day conference on monetary policy.

"Economic understanding will always move forward but as we move forward, we realize how much we still do not understand," he said. "While change itself is certain, what form it will take next is always uncertain."
