PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- The Franklin Mint, a Philadelphia-area producer of various collectibles that include coins, dolls and jewelry, is furloughing about 200 of its workers.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday company officials said the action is part of a restructuring that will transform the Franklin Mint into a smaller business, focusing on product development and marketing of die-cast models of cars, airplanes and motorcycles.

Employees notified of the business decision Wednesday were asked to immediately pack their belongings and go home.
