White House urges Japan to fight deflation

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- The White House's chief economist said Thursday that Japan must tackle deflation in order to jump-start its ailing economy once and for all. Glenn Hubbard added that fighting the deflationary spiral was the primary responsibility of the Bank of Japan.
