The leaders of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan signed an agreement Friday on the construction of a $2 billion trans-Afghan gas pipeline. The 900-mile pipeline is designed to connect the Davletabad gas field in southern Turkmenistan via Afghanistan with the city of Multan in central Pakistan.
