DaimlerChrysler, CAW avert strike

TORONTO, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- DaimlerChrysler averted a strike by 13,000 union members late Tuesday as the Canadian Auto Workers accepted the framework for a tentative deal on a new three-year contract. Among the products DaimlerChrysler produces in Canada are the Concorde, Intrepid and 300M sedans, the Town & Country minivan, and engine parts and other components.
