Stocks lifted bargain hunting

NEW YORK, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Stock prices on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market are slightly higher in moderate trading Friday, lifted by some early bouts of bargain hunting following five days of declines. The blue-chip Dow Jones industrial average, which lost 27.95 points points Thursday, was ahead 5.70 points to 9,631.10 shortly after the opening bell. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index, which fell 30.60 points in the previous session, was ahead 13.80 points to 1,795.91.
