Stocks fall on jitters over plane crash

NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Stock prices on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market are sharply lower in nervous trading Monday after an American Airlines plane crashed just outside New York JFK airport. The blue-chip Dow Jones industrial average, which rose 20.48 points Friday, was down 122.60 points to 9,485.40 shortly after the opening bell. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index, which added 0.71 points in the previous session, was down 28.80 points to 1,799.68.
