UAL reports $1B quarterly loss

CHICAGO, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- UAL Corp., the parent company of United Airlines, Thursday reported its biggest quarterly loss in its 75-year history -- $1.16 billion, compared with a $116 million loss during the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter was off 16 percent to $4.11 billion, from $4.91 billion a year earlier.
