Announcer: From the capital, stories of congressional ethics, the economy, the elections, and presidential hopefuls kept a brisk pace for newsmen.

Unknown Speaker: “I recommend to the Congress a surcharge of 6 percent on both corporate and individual income taxes.”

Unknown Speaker: “I don’t think they have yet sold the American people or the Congress and the need for increase taxes.”

Unknown Speaker: "I am out as a Congressman, you no longer have a Congressman.”

Unknown Speaker: “If you want to get into the discussion about who is been brainwashing whom, I just suggest you take a look at what this administration has been telling the American people at home and abroad. “

Unknown Speaker: “Oh, I think it’s a wide open thing, and I don’t think any party has ever had a greater wealth of potential candidates, any number of which could do a very fine job.”

Announcer: These stories will be heard next on UPI’s 1967 In Review.
