Morocco Earthquake

Announcer: Although the war of words went on, the destructive forces of man were held in check. Not so the forces of nature. In Morocco the seaport village of Agadir was demolished by an earthquake. Half a world away the Hawaiian Islands were lashed by tidal waves that led ways to the town of Hilo. Charlie Bernard reported.

Charlie Bernard: They are still counting the dead from last night and this morning's tragic big seismic sea wave which hit the little 25,000 population city leaving at least 26 persons dead, 57 injured and up to 25 missing.

Announcer: Three days later May 27, Santiago, Chile, Dave Belnap reporting

Dave Belnap: "This South American country (Inaudible) the victims on three major terrifying (Inaudible), earthquakes, tidal waves and volcanic eruptions. (Inaudible) more than 5000 persons."
