LOS ANGELES -- Oscar-winning singer-actress Irene Cara married veteran stuntman Conrad Palmisano in a weekend ceremony at a park overlooking the Pacific Ocean, her publicist said Monday.

Cara, 27, who won an Academy Award for the title song to 'Fame' and two Grammys for her music to 'Flashdance,' met Palmisano, 37, in 1984 on the set of 'A Certain Fury,' where he was stunt coordinator.

About 250 people attended the wedding Sunday in a park in Palos Verdes. The reception was held at the Ambassador Hotel, publicist Mitchell Schneider said.

Palmisano is currently president of the Stuntmen's Association and has begun directing his own movies, including the yet-to-be released 'Busted Up,' which stars Cara, Schneider said.
