This past season, Poulin, 25, set a club record for points by a first-year player with 76 on 31 goals and 45 assists. He was second in overall rookie scoring in the NHL and led the league with a plus-31 rating and six game-winning goals.

'He showed more poise, leadership and determination on the ice as a rookie than any other first-year player I have seen in many years,' executive vice president Keith Allen said.

Terms of Poulin's contract were not disclosed.

Zezel, a second-round draft choice of the Flyers last year, led the Ontario Hockey League Toronto Marlboros in scoring last season with 47 goals and 86 assists for 133 points.

Bergen, a fifth-round pick in the 1982 draft, had 57 goals and 39 assists for 96 points last season in only 43 games for Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League.

Tocchet, a sixth-round selection in 1983, posted 108 points on 44 goals and 64 assists last season for Sault Ste. Marie in the OHL.
