President Donald Trump met with Panama's President Juan Carlos Varela at the White House on June 19, 2017.

First lady Melania Trump and Panama's first lady, Lorena Castillo, attended the meeting as well.

The leaders discussed economic ties between the two countries, illegal immigration, the fight against organized crime and the ongoing political unrest in Venezuela.
